Premature Ovarian Failure in TCM

32 -year-old Mina (pseudonym) has long-term high-level stress and an irregular lifestyle. In recent years, her menstruation only comes once every two to three months, and the amount of menstrual blood has also become less and less. Mina was not getting pregnant despite having unprotected sex for one year. She goes to see the provider to determine the cause. Premature ovarian failure (AMH: 0.3 ng/mL) was unexpectedly found on examination.

What is Premature Ovarian Failure?

Premature ovarian failure, also known as premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), refers to the ovaries stopping functioning as they should before the age of 40 in women. This condition often leads to infertility. The symptoms include decreased libido, hot flashes, sweating, vaginal dryness, and other signs of estrogen deficiency.
